There are very few spots in the world where wind, water and land merge to provide a flawless environment for both windsurfing and kiteboarding. The Squamish Spit is one of them. It is considered by many aficionados to be one of the top 10 locations in the world. It has a consistent, southerly wind and in the summer when the sun shines, thermal winds blow in from Howe Sound allowing wind surfers to reach speeds exceeding 60 kilometres an hour.
