Q: How do I cancel my reservation?
A: If you booked directly on our website, please forward us your reservation confirmation email asking us to cancel and we’ll do the rest.
If you booked externally (with Booking.com for example), please follow the instructions in your confirmation email to cancel. We cannot cancel for you.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: Cancellations over 48hours before arrival can be made without penalty and any deposit paid will be returned. Cancellations made 0-48 hours prior to arrival will be charged a penalty of one night’s stay.
For group bookings, please see the terms and conditions outlined in the contract provided to you when you booked your stay.
Q: A group of us is thinking of staying with you. Can you accommodate us?
A: Please email us with the size of your group, dates, phone number, and time that you would like us to call you back. We’ll then call you back to figure out how we can help you.
Q: Can I pay cash?
A: We require a valid credit card to hold your reservation and process a deposit of one night’s stay. When you check in you can pay the balance in cash, or we can even refund your credit card and have you pay the entire amount in cash.
Q: Can I make a reservation by email?
A: No. Reservations need to be done online or by phone. We require a valid credit card in order to hold your bed or room.
Q: I want to work/volunteer with you? How do I apply?
A: Awesome! We’re always looking for the right people to help make the Squastel as great as it can be. However we are unable to make hiring decisions many weeks or months in advance. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your resume and the position you are interested a week or two before you hope to start, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Q: Do I need to bring my own pillow / blanket / towel / soap?
A: If you are staying in a Super Private, you will be provided with soap and towels and everything else that is standard with a hotel.
All other rooms (dorms and privates with shared baths) are hostel-style. This means that sheets and pillows are provided but towels and soap are not. And if you're staying in a dorm, remember to bring a lock for the locker in your room.
Q: Can I stay with you guys long term for a discounted rate?
A: Guests are allowed to stay for a maximum of 28 consecutive nights.
For those looking to volunteer at the hostel, long term accommodation of over one month is available.
Q: Are pets allowed?
A: Unfortunately not.
Q: Do you have secure storage for my gear / sporting equipment?
A: Yes, we have a limited number of secure lockers that are available on a first come first served basis. Sporting equipment is not allowed in the rooms; violators will be asked to leave.
We also rent out lockers to those of you going on overnight hikes and looking to leave valuables and bulky items behind. The cost is $5 a night.
